An MEP Draftsman is an integral part of the construction and engineering team, specializing in the drafting and design of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles and the ability to translate them into detailed technical drawings. As an MEP Draftsman, you will work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to create and revise blueprints, ensuring that they meet industry standards and project requirements. Your role is critical in visualizing complex systems, aiding in project planning, and ensuring precise installations. Proficiency in CAD software and attention to detail is essential, as your work will directly impact the efficiency and safety of the projects you contribute to.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed blueprints for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems using CAD software.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to gather and incorporate design modifications.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and ensure accurate implementation.
• Prepare and verify detailed documentation of design specifications and project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all industry standards, regulations, and safety codes in designs.
• Coordinate with project managers to track progress and address design challenges swiftly.
• Assist in estimating project costs by providing detailed bill of quantities from drawings.
• Conduct site visits to gain a thorough understanding of practical implementation challenges.
• Utilize BIM software to integrate 3D models into project designs and workflows.
• Offer technical support and guidance to construction teams during project execution phases.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest industry trends and software updates in MEP drafting.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clarity in project specifications and timelines.

Requirements

• Associate degree or relevant certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an MEP Draftsman or in a similar construction drafting role.
• Proficiency in using CAD and BIM software to create detailed technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and designs.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and precise work.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering and architectural drawings accurately.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
