MEP Draftsman 12N25

An MEP Draftsman specializes in the design and drafting of the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing components of construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all MEP systems work in harmony with one another and with the architectural design. The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a deep understanding of engineering principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD and Revit. In addition to creating precise layouts and technical drawings, an MEP Draftsman collaborates closely with engineers and architects to incorporate their specifications into the designs. By coordinating with project managers and on-site personnel, the draftsman ensures that designs are executed as planned, contributing to a seamless construction process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of various construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to amend designs and incorporate project requirements.
• Use CAD software such as AutoCAD to create and modify drawings effectively.
• Review rough sketches, specifications, and other data to develop final design drawings.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure project deadlines are met with high precision.
• Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of complex scale drawings and layouts, including detail and assembly drawings.
• Communicate with project managers and on-site personnel to address design-related issues.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve project outcomes.
• Update and maintain design documentation and records in an organized manner.
• Prepare cost estimates and material requirements for various MEP systems.
• Conduct site visits to verify drawing accuracy and inspect MEP installations and systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MEP Draftsman or a similar position in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, especially AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and relevant engineering principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in drafting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications correctly.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
