Summary

The MEP Director at BEYOND is responsible for overseeing MEP team throughout the entire MEP lifecycle of projects, from concept to delivery and handover. This includes managing design, installation, and commissioning to ensure alignment with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.

Day to Day Tasks

• Provide strategic leadership on all MEP aspects across the company’s portfolio, ensuring systems are planned, designed, and delivered in alignment with corporate objectives, authority requirements, and UAE construction regulations.
• Define and drive the MEP vision and strategy, aligning with the organization’s long-term development and sustainability goals.
• Oversee and approve design direction from Concept to Delivery, ensuring MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection) are fully integrated, efficient, and future-ready.
• Establish design standards and governance frameworks to ensure all consultants and contractors adhere to company quality benchmarks, codes, and international best practices.
• Lead high-level coordination with architects, structural engineers, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall project design.
• Direct contractor engagement and tendering strategy, setting criteria for prequalification, evaluating bids at executive level, and ensuring contractors selected bring long-term value and quality.
• Oversee budgetary governance of all MEP works, collaborating with the commercial team to optimize costs, ensure value engineering, and mitigate risks of overruns.
• Manage organizational risk by proactively identifying MEP-related technical, financial, and operational risks across projects and establishing mitigation frameworks.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing MEP function, empowering managers, defining growth paths, and ensuring knowledge transfer across the organization.
• Set performance and delivery KPIs for MEP teams and external stakeholders, ensuring accountability and timely resolution of issues at all project stages.
• Represent the company at executive and authority levels, maintaining strong relationships with statutory bodies, regulators, and senior consultants to facilitate smooth approvals.
• Champion innovation and sustainability, adopting advanced technologies, energy-efficient solutions, and smart systems to reduce lifecycle costs and enhance asset value.
• Oversee handover and operational readiness, ensuring robust MEP documentation, training for FM teams, and smooth transition of systems into operation.
• Maintain governance through the Defect Liability Period (DLP) by ensuring systemic issue resolution frameworks are in place, minimizing operational disruptions.
• Monitor portfolio-level resource planning, ensuring optimal allocation of MEP expertise across all current and upcoming projects.
• Regularly brief C-suite and board members on MEP project performance, highlighting strategic risks, opportunities, and innovations.
• Shape industry presence by keeping the organization at the forefront of MEP advancements, regulations, and market trends, positioning the company as a leader in integrated building systems.
• Ensure organizational compliance with safety, sustainability, and quality management systems, embedding continuous improvement into MEP operations.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with design, development, construction, and operations leadership to ensure MEP works consistently deliver long-term value.
• Promote a culture of excellence, ensuring MEP delivery enhances the company’s reputation for high-quality, sustainable, and innovative developments
  
  

Competencies

Minimum Required Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical, Electrical, IT Engineering or equivalent

Average Years of Experience: 10-15 Years of experience in similar role in Real Estate development, contractor or consultant company

General Skills: Team management, multi-tasking, ability to work on several projects, time management, planning and organizing, communication and negotiation skills

Technical Skills: Project Management, Basic knowledge using TAB, Green Building and LEAD standards knowledge, Strong Knowledge of MEP standards in the UAE
