Job Description

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Coordinator plays a crucial role in the construction industry, facilitating the seamless integration and coordination of various systems within a building project. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components are accurately designed, installed, and function as intended. The MEP Coordinator collaborates closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to manage installations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work under pressure to deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering with a knack for organization and problem-solving. This role is vital in preventing delays, mitigating risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all phases of construction projects.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of MEP systems installation from planning to completion.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to facilitate project progress.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and design plans for MEP systems.
  • Ensure that all MEP installations comply with industry codes and standards.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify installations and resolve any technical issues.
  • Collaborate with IT specialists to incorporate smart technology into MEP systems.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and progress reports.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project team as necessary.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of MEP installations.
  • Work with suppliers to procure necessary components and materials efficiently.
  • Manage safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in MEP coordination within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MEP design tools such as AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
