Job Description

The MEP Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within construction projects. This expert professional is responsible for managing all MEP aspects, ensuring that installations meet project specifications, codes, and regulations. A critical player in the construction and renovation industry, the MEP Coordinator liaises with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee that MEP systems are integrated into the overall project design. The role requires a strong understanding of technical aspects, excellent communication skills, and the ability to solve complex issues to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all MEP installations to comply with project specifications.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to integrate MEP systems design.
  • Review and understand architectural and mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure the timely progression of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
  • Monitor project budget and schedule to align MEP activities accordingly.
  • Identify potential MEP system issues and recommend solutions proactively.
  • Facilitate communication between different trades to resolve MEP conflicts.
  • Prepare and present reports on the status of MEP installations regularly.
  • Supervise and manage MEP contractors and subcontractors on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality and progress.
  • Coordinate the commissioning and testing of MEP systems to ensure functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP coordination and project management.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical construction processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently under pressure.
