Job Description

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Coordinator plays a crucial role in the construction and engineering industries, ensuring that the MEP services in a building project are well-designed, coordinated, and efficiently executed. As an MEP Coordinator, you will act as a liaison between the architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate systems and resolve issues that arise during the planning and construction phases. This role requires deep technical knowledge and the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively. With responsibilities ranging from the design stage to project completion, the MEP Coordinator is essential for maintaining project timelines and ensuring that all quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to design MEP systems effectively.
  • Review and assess MEP drawings and proposals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor the installation process to ensure that plans and specifications are followed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential delays or issues.
  • Facilitate meetings between different stakeholders to resolve MEP-related conflicts.
  • Ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes and regulations are adhered to.
  • Prepare progress and status reports for upper management and project stakeholders.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and services required for project completion.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Integrate MEP systems with other building systems to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements across the MEP scopes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all construction phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in MEP coordination or related construction management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems design and construction processes.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations will be an advantage.
