Job Summary:

Manages compliance of HSSE and Quality Management system within Interwell Middle East & North Africa (MENA). Maintains oversight of all regional QHSSE initiatives, strategies, and country level plans in accordance with regional objectives for any given year and strategy period.

Main Activities & Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice to IW MENA and IW global team on regional and client QHSSE requirements
  • Creating, developing and driving the strategy and direction of all QHSSE related programs within IW MENA
  • Developing, coordinating, and overseeing of the regional assurance programs and ensuring audits are planned and executed to a high standard in a timely manner
  • Monitoring compliance with all applicable QHSSE legislation and client requirements
  • Developing and implementing regional QHSSE procedures & policies
  • Developing & testing Emergency Preparedness and Response Arrangements
  • Monitoring & reporting of key QHSSE data, monthly KPI reporting, analysing of the performance trends of regional QHSSE and defining intervention actions required
  • Defining requirements for external QHSSE training and delivering appropriate QHSSE training interventions.
  • Ensuring high quality incident investigations are performed in a timely manner and follow up activities are completed, verifying of NCR and HSSE incident cases in IFS
  • Conducting internal QHSSE audits and following up on outcome. Supporting Logistic Supply Chain Manager MENA on supplier audits
  • Participate and prepare annual QHSSE management system reviews
  • Leading, mentoring and directing QHSSE supervisors/advisors
  • Appointed as regional QHSSE Management Representative and have the responsibility and authority to:-
  • Ensuring quality management system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the API Q1 and Q2 for the relevant sites
  • Ensuring that processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained
  • Ensuring quality management system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the ISO9001 for MENA region
  • Initiating action(s) to minimize the likelihood of the occurrences of nonconformities; and
  • Reporting to management on the performance of the quality management system for reviewing, including recommendation for improvement
  • Ensuring promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization in liaison with QHSSE supervisors/advisors
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and personal commitment to Interwell QHSSE policies & objectives
  • Promoting Interwell’s Vision and Values including necessary awareness programs
  • Maintaining the risk and opportunities register for the region
  • Maintaining the legal compliance register for the region
  • Approving of HSE NCRs in IFS and responsible for sharing / following up on lesson learnt
  • Managing certification audit(s) relative to approval related to internal and external and processes
  • Process owner of the Emergency Response Plan for MENA region
  • Responsible member of Contingency Plan MENA ref Doc no. 1730952
  • Participate in internal, regional, management & clients’ meetings
  • Participate in global IFS super user forums & initiatives
  • Participate in IW MENA management team
  • Participate in IW MENA Emergency Preparedness team
  • Participate in IW QHSSE global team

QHSE Responsibilities - Individual:

  • Understand and follow Interwell policies and relevant procedures
  • Take an active part in compliance and improvement of the Interwell QHSE systems
  • Responsible for acting in an inclusive manner and to support and respect individual identities
  • Responsible for their own and others wellbeing, health and safety at work, including the reporting of any accidents, incidents & near misses

Functional Manager:

  • Effective leadership, communication, compliance and implementation of Interwell QHSE system processes, procedures and policies
  • Prevention of work-related injury, health conditions as well as provision of a healthy and safe workplace
  • Participation in regional strategic management including establishment of department and regional objectives
  • Implementation and integration of Global and Regional Procedures within the designated department
  • Support and direct employees so they could contribute to the effectiveness and continual improvement of the Interwell QHSE systems
  • Responsible for encouraging employees to participate and be consulted in QHSE matters
  • Responsible for ensuring D&I principles are embedded into IW policies and procedures, demonstrating role modelling behaviours, allocating resources, making reasonable adjustments to enable access and participation where necessary, ensuring open communication channels, and creating a safe environment where concerns can be raised, evaluate impact of the framework and consider analysis of data

Experience, Qualifications And Skills

  • Ability to think and act both operationally and strategically.
  • Knowledge of Quality standards including ISO 9001:2015 & API Q1 and Q2.
  • University degree qualified, HSE professional preferred.
  • Membership of professional recognized professional body.
  • Knowledge of HSSE regulations & standards including ISO 45001:2018 & 14001: 2015.
  • Fluent in English – both written & oral.
  • Systematic & accurate.
  • Business acumen.
  • Competence: 3-5 Years of proven industrial experience.
