Job Description

A Medical Representative, often known as a pharmaceutical sales representative, plays a critical role in the sales and marketing sector of the pharmaceutical industry. This professional is responsible for promoting and selling their company's products, which can include a range of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The main aim of a Medical Representative is to increase the sales of their company's products, ensuring they are well-represented in hospitals, clinics, and private practices. They act as a link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals, using their knowledge and sales skills to address clients' needs and provide compelling presentations and demonstrations. As the face of the company in the health sector, the Medical Representative significantly influences a product’s market penetration and the overall success of the company’s sales strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals to promote product awareness.
  • Conduct product presentations and workshops to provide detailed information to doctors.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with existing and potential clients to maintain strong business relationships.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Prepare sales reports and submit them to the management team regularly.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, and trade shows.
  • Provide accurate and timely feedback to the company on customer requirements.
  • Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the overall team success.
  • Organize medical conferences, seminars, and other promotional events as required.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on new therapies, treatments, and product innovations.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure products are in optimal condition for presentation.
  • Travel within the designated sales territory to meet client needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related medical field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical sales.
  • Strong understanding of medical and pharmaceutical products and the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver presentations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the sales territory for fieldwork.
