Job Description

The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient and welcoming environment within a medical office or healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of communication and documentation.
  • Verify patient information and insurance details accurately during check-in.
  • Manage and update patient records and databases with necessary information.
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.
  • Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure timely patient management and care.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Collect patient co-pays and process payments following financial policies.
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies, informing management of stock requirements.
  • Address patient complaints or concerns efficiently, escalating when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Previous experience in customer service or receptionist roles preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices would be beneficial.
  • Proficiency with office software and patient management systems is needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
