Mechanic-LCV (225-925)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic specializing in Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) to join our dedicated team. As a Mechanic-LCV, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of light commercial vehicles including vans, minivans, and small trucks. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in vehicle safety and performance. You will utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair LCVs focusing on both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment to perform various tests on vehicle systems.
• Document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed on each vehicle.
• Order and install new equipment or parts as needed for vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and adhere to all vehicle repair regulations.
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely completion of all repairs.
• Communicate effectively with vehicle owners regarding their automotive needs and repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest industry technologies and practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices when necessary.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for completed service and repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training is a plus.
• Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on light commercial vehicles.
• Solid understanding of light vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use various automotive tools and diagnostic equipment proficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to clearly explain technical information to clients.
• Valid driver's license is required; a commercial driver’s license is advantageous.
