Job Description
The Materials Testing Technician will be responsible for conducting tests and inspections on construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This role requires technical knowledge of materials testing methods, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Perform tests on construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, and metals.
- Collect samples and record test results accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments.
- Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Conduct visual inspections to assess the quality of materials and workmanship.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Keep abreast of industry standards and emerging testing technologies.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Previous experience in materials testing or quality control.
- Knowledge of materials testing methods and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
