The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of marketing and communication strategies to achieve enrolment targets and other related KPIs. The post holder will help collate and generate visual content, identify opportunities to showcase our schools USPs and ensure that all marketing activity is widely and appropriately publicised across our online platforms, print and digital marketing media. Specific responsibility will be for the day-to-day management of the schools social media channels, website, targeted communications plan and coverage of daily school events/activities. The Marketing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, showcasing and strengthening the schools community as a central pillar of the schools culture.
Job Responsibilities
Visual Content Internal and External Communications
Lead on visual content (photo and video) for all internal communications (including but not limited to the weekly newsletter and annual yearbook).
Lead on visual content (photo and video) for all external communications (including but not limited to all social media platforms, school website, branded handbooks and publications).
Manage all school social media platform accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter), capturing, editing and posting content daily to promote school activities, events, student spotlight stories and overall USPs (including photos, videos, reels, graphics, captions and hashtags).
Liaise with Senior Leadership Team and teachers to identify opportunities for engaging content, student spotlights and news stories, gathering on the ground content in real time.
Organise scheduled social media posts during school holidays.
Attend all daily school events, assemblies, community forums and parent workshops to capture visual content.
Manage list of photo/video publication refusal students, ensuring any posted visual content internally/externally does not include these students.
Maintain an up-to-date and categorised photo/video bank.
Create slide content of key notices and school values for internal screens on a weekly basis.
Maintain and update written content on school website, with input from Senior Leadership Team / Head of Marketing and Communications.
Liaise with Community Engagement Team regarding the organisation of annual student and staff photos, stepping in to support with missing photos as required.
Liaise with Community Engagement Team to support with marketing and promotion of school events (internally and externally).
Supervising and supporting photographers and videographers on school premises during scheduled shoots.
Upholding Brand Reputation and External Community Engagement
Regularly monitor key online review platforms (e.g. Google Review), third party school review sites (e.g. Which School Advisor, Schools Compared etc.), parent discussion forums and social media discussion forums (e.g. Facebook parent groups) for any posted reviews, comments or questions related to BWA and responding appropriately, including referring any admissions-related queries to our Admissions team.
Alerting Senior Leadership Team / Head of Marketing and Communications to any reviews or comments requiring resolution from school team.
Point of contact with third party school review sites (e.g. Which School Advisor, Schools Compared etc.) to ensure content is up to date.
Branded Collateral
Liaise with agency and schools Senior Leadership Team / Head of Marketing and Communications to update both internal and external branded collateral (including but not limited to flyers, academic calendars, fact sheets and brochures).
Liaise with graphic designers and schools Senior Leadership Team / Head of Marketing and Communications to develop content (written and visual) as well as design of annual yearbook and curriculum handbooks.
Lead on branded giveaways for Prospective parents (admissions events).
In alignment with Head of Marketing and Communications, support school team with branding guidance and input as required.
Community Voice Initiatives
Work closely with Principal Well-being and Development on student voice and community initiatives.
Liaise with Media Teacher to supervise and provide guidance for Media and Marketing Student Leaders.
Ad / PR Agency
Liaise with agency and Head of Marketing and Communications to organise and facilitate opportunities for radio interviews, media press releases, articles, thought pieces etc.
In alignment with Head of Marketing and Communications, equip agency with visual content for media stories and gather written content from key school team members.
Extract data from HubSpot on lead generation for monthly media reporting to Head of Marketing and Communications.
Liaise with third party suppliers, obtaining and raising quotes for approval.
Collaborate with the advertising agency and attend weekly meetings with the Head of Marketing and Communications to support the execution of the media booking plans.
Digital & Social Media Innovation
Develop creative campaigns that showcase student voice, school values, and community spirit in engaging formats (e.g., reels, challenges, takeovers).
Use innovative tools (AI, storytelling apps, interactive polls) to increase audience engagement.
Research global education marketing trends and bring new ideas to the schools platforms.
Experiment with new content formats short-form video, podcasts, interactive graphics, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
Build opportunities for students and staff to co-create content, giving authenticity and fresh perspective to posts.
Track and analyse emerging platforms to keep the school ahead of digital trends.
Social media analysis on our internal social media channels trends, engagement, likes, shares etc.
Essential Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - copywriting, editing and proofreading (English essential; Arabic an advantage).
Creative eye for design, photography, and digital storytelling.
Good knowledge of social media management tools and analytics.
Management of social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube creating and curating content, social influence building.
Understanding of online marketing and measurement metrics.
Understanding of using a CMS for website management preferable.
Understanding of HubSpot and Mailchimp preferrable.
Graphic design, photo editing and retouching skills with a working knowledge of Canva, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop preferable.
Knowledge of audio/video editing preferrable.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Experience, Qualifications And Personal Attributes
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media or related field.
1-3 years experience in marketing or communications (education sector preferred but not essential).
Relationship management experience able to build and influence professional relationships with peer group as well as parental community.
Experience in event support and content creation.
Ability to manage all aspects of role with absolute confidentiality and with student safety and safeguarding at the core of all functions.
Enthusiastic and proactive, with a can-do attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
