Job Purpose

Our Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand team is responsible for conveying the essence of Emirates Group. Our team is pivotal in representing the attitudes, beliefs and goals of our organisation across the globe, both internally and with our customers alike!

As part of the CCM&B team, the Manager Strategic Planner will lead and manage a team of Strategic Planners, working within the Customer and Central Portfolio team. The role will ensure the team is set up to successfully provide insights and recommendations to the Managers Marketing Communications (MMC), Media team and all other CCM&B marketing teams in line with the department's objective to identify and support data-driven marketing communications opportunities. They will work with senior members of the department to spread awareness of data-backed practices. They will identify opportunities to track and collect data across the department, and raise these opportunities to appropriate teams for action. The role will be required to create standard ways of working within the Strategic Planning team, such that the engagements with other teams across CCMB, the outputs produced by the teams and the quality of recommendations is consistent across the team.

In This Role, You Will

  • Be responsible for developing frameworks and processes for the Strategic Planning team to provide and verify data-driven objectives and propose recommendations against briefs, ensuring that all Strategic Planners are able to support MMCs and media team across regions and business units.
  • Lead the Strategic Planning team in analysing data and generating actionable recommendations. Collaborate with stakeholders to access and verify data, oversee audience creation, and guide targeting and media spend.
  • Set and ensure the standard execution of processes and frameworks for the Strategic Planning team. Ensure the Strategic Planners work in the same manner, regardless of region/business unit being supported.
  • Drive data-driven thinking across the department, showcasing the work from the team and communicating the benefits and opportunities of using data to drive marketing planning across the department.
  • Build strong relationships across departments, communicate team plans and outcomes clearly, and mentor planners using expert strategic and analytical skills.
  • Ensure that the Strategic Planning team works in a multi-and-omni-channel environment, crafting recommendations with the customer in mind. Drive channel-agnostic thinking, ensuring that marketing briefs and activities are data-driven and customer-centric.
  • Manage and set the foundation for the Strategic Planners to be able to collaborate with teams across the department, inputting into measurement frameworks, KPIs and metrics to track campaigns and their ROI. Understand and drive analytics while working with marketing, customer and UX data to ensure measurement and reporting across CCMB is carried out effectively.
  • Develop and coach the team of Strategic Planners, ensuring the team understand their objectives and the operating model, and have the necessary skills to execute the role effectively.
  • Maintain data privacy controls, stay updated with privacy requirements, and ensure team compliance with data protection standards.
  • Influence budget setting and utilisation across markets and business unit areas, ensuring spend is generating expected returns, and recommended spend remains within budget. Ensure any initiatives requiring investment are prioritised and communicated to all stakeholders.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • A completed and attested Degree in Marketing or related discipline, or higher qualification.
  • 10+ experience years in Marketing / Media / Communication positions
  • Experience as a strategic planner.

Knowledge/skills

  • Strong leadership across the team and Advocacy across the department
  • Proven experience delivering global marketing campaign briefs
  • Excellent understanding of data-driven marketing
  • Hands on digital experience will be advantageous
  • Past experience in media planning and digital marketing strategy
  • Understanding of how the online and offline worlds combine to create a holistic approach to communications
  • A strategic thinker and have a proven track record of developing strategies for enterprise scale brands
  • Strong analytical skills, enjoying working with numbers and data and understand the bigger picture
  • Ability to think creatively and consider solutions and ideas that challenge the status quo
  • Google certification
  • Experience using marketing technologies, e.g. CDPS, CRM platforms, SFMC
  • Statistical analysis capabilities.
