Job Purpose
- Lead individual New Venture projects through finding, evaluating, recommending, and evaluating acquisitions of international oil and gas assets in production and development via bid rounds, direct negotiations, farm-ins, farm-outs ,.. in communication with Growth Team
- Maintain relationships with oil and gas companies and other key industry players for the purpose of possible partnership and collaboration related to New Ventures projects.
- Create and maintain activity plans to accomplish the set by the constraints of time, costs and agreed quality related to New Ventures Projects.

Job Responsibilities
- Identify and lead screening/evaluation process of investment opportunities for New Ventures projects through understanding industry trends, review of relevant publications, attending industry conferences and pro-active interaction with other oil and gas companies, takes lead responsibility for individual New Ventures projects as assigned Growth VP and in coordination with Growth Team.
- Assist Business Growth VP in developing strategies and positions through evaluation of New Ventures projects risks and potential rewards and estimating seller’s needs and goals, in context of competitiveness and other market considerations.
- Work with partners as required/desired in potential investment opportunities for New Ventures Projects.
- Lead prequalification activities to support Dragon Oil participation in bid rounds and other processes.
- Develop and maintain relevant Dragon Oil overview presentations materials for use in business development applications, ensuring accuracy, consistency and professionalism.
- Develops market intelligence on investment opportunities and competitors through professional network, shares intelligence gathered with Growth team.
- Integrate and supervise with Growth teams and country VPs to create activity plans.
- Identify critical paths and risks in delivering the plans within time, budget and quality constraints.
- Co-ordinate between teams, departments and Country VPs to monitor and update the activity plans on a regular basis, flagging up critical issues and risks that might threaten achieving the planned goals.
- Scrutiny the Growth team regularly to update progress against the plan and report any risks to delivery.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Projects, Engineering or Business spectrum.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil and gas business development, project & business management

Demonstrates advanced understanding of upstream M&A, asset acquisitions, farm-ins/farm-outs, partnerships, transaction structures, and the commercial lifecycle of growth opportunities
Under Supervision of VP Growth, Leads complex, high-value negotiations with governments, NOCs, IOCs, JV partners, and strategic counterparties; develops negotiation strategies and achieves value-optimizing outcomes
Structures, evaluates, and negotiates commercial agreements, including PSAs/PSCs, TSCs, JOAs, concession agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, and offtake arrangements
Assesses market trends, fiscal regimes, competitive positioning, geopolitical considerations, and strategic opportunities to support the Company's international growth agenda
Under Supervision of VP Growth Builds and maintains trusted relationships with senior government officials, NOCs, IOCs, partners, advisors, and internal stakeholders while aligning diverse interests.
Identifies, assesses, and mitigates commercial, contractual, fiscal, regulatory, and transaction risks while ensuring appropriate governance and compliance
Communicates complex commercial positions clearly, influences senior stakeholders, and leads cross-functional negotiation teams
