Manager - Learning & Development | MAF Retail | Head Office UAE

Role Summary

The Manager L&D is the Operational Execution Lead for career progression and behavioral development within MAF Retail UAE. Based at the RBS in Ibn Battuta, the role is the driving force behind the flawless delivery of all developmental programs—with a primary focus on Store Management tracks. You serve as the strategic connector between SMEs, Store Operations, the Emiratisation team, and Global Solutions (GS), ensuring that both technical retail skills and "Power Skills" are delivered with high impact across Stores and the Head Office (HO).

ROLE PROFILE

  • Flawless Pipeline Execution: Lead the end-to-end rollout of leadership tracks for Team Leaders, Department Heads, and Store Managers, ensuring zero-defect execution and consistency across all MAF Retail units in the UAE.
  • Continuous Content Evolution: Conduct an annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify emerging capability gaps. Coordinate with SMEs to update and refine program content, ensuring it is grounded in current store reality and company strategy.
  • Talent-to-Value Selection: Partner with Store Managers to identify and select attendees with the highest learning agility, ensuring training resources are focused on the "Talent to Value" segments that drive business growth.
  • Head Office Integration: Extend L&D support to the Head Office by identifying behavioral gaps and managing the rollout of targeted professional development programs.
  • GS Strategic Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Global Solutions (GS) to coordinate and deliver "Power Skills" workshops (e.g., Leadership Presence, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence) for both HO and Store Management.
  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as the main ambassador for the RBS to Store Managers and Regional Directors. Communicate the "Big Picture" of the learning journey to ensure high engagement and store-level collaboration.
  • Emiratisation Learning Touchpoint: Serve as the primary RBS link for the Emiratisation Team. Collaborate closely to ensure UAE National development tracks are executed with high rigor, on schedule, and with clear career outcomes.
  • Logistical Engine Management: Mentor and lead one Associate Manager L&D, overseeing the day-to-day logistical execution (scheduling, facilitator coordination, and material readiness) to guarantee timely program delivery.

Requirements

  • Preferably BS degree in Education, Training, HR or related field.
  • 5+ years in L&D or Training Operations within a retail or high-volume business environment.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Proven experience in a role requiring coordination between Subject Matter Experts and Operations.
