The Manager - Distribution Center is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all operations within the distribution center, ensuring efficient and effective processes related to inventory management, shipping, receiving, and storage. This position requires a strategic thinker who can lead a team to achieve operational excellence while meeting safety and compliance standards. The successful candidate will bring a blend of strong leadership skills, analytical prowess, and a deep understanding of supply chain logistics. The Manager will work closely with other departments to streamline operations, improve efficiencies, and drive cost-effective measures. In addition, they will be tasked with managing relationships with vendors, addressing any issues that arise, and implementing solutions to enhance distribution services. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring smooth workflow and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve distribution efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Manage and lead a team of staff, providing guidance, training, and performance assessments.
  • Monitor inventory levels, coordinate stock control, and manage order fulfillment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality management standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align distribution operations with organizational goals.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity in the center.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met within the distribution center.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure minimal downtime and disruptions.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues that may arise, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in distribution or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and implementing efficient distribution strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, quality, and compliance standards in distribution settings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and other relevant supply chain tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning for distribution operations.
