Job Purpose

At Emirates Group our Enterprise Data & Analytics department (ED&A) is a centralized unit that provides data and analytics support to Emirates Group businesses. This allows our businesses to make better decisions by using data and analytics to understand our customers, operations, and markets. The ED&A is an essential part of Emirates Groups digital transformation strategy. The unit is helping Emirates Group to become a more data-driven organization and to make better decisions by using data and analytics.

In the Manager Analytics and Insights role, you will lead the Enterprise Analytics insights team to deliver analysis and Business Intelligence products for a diverse range of business stakeholders. Work closely with internal customers to understand their challenges and opportunities and develop data driven solutions that help business leaders understand their data and how it can be used to identify opportunities and solve complex problems. Employ a variety of business and technical skills to deliver bespoke products rapidly that ensures data and information provide valuable context in each decision. Provide technical leadership within their team to design solutions that are reliable, scalable and empower business to access the data they need, when they need it most.

As a strategic role of the Analytics Center of Enablement, this role will facilitate in translating business needs into a future‑proof semantic layer strategy and self-service framework, working collaboratively within a cross‑functional team across the wider department. The role will also play a key part in setting up the supporting function for the broader Insights and Enablement teams.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and manage the implementation of the framework for a best-in-class analytics function for the Enterprise by defining the core competencies required to execute this function, building and leading the teams integration into the business and managing stakeholder engagement to ensure buy in to this model.
  • Define the analytical objectives of the enterprise both cross-functionally, and in each functional line of business. Lead the team to execute this strategy.
  • Lead the centralised functions that deliver timely, reliable and certified analysis for the business in accordance with the balanced scorecard / enterprise analytics framework prescribed by the Head of Centre of Excellence (CoE).
  • Lead the business through the creation of the program of work that delivers the basis upon which a data driven organisation can emerge and thrive. Create transparency across all aspects of the business covering revenue, cost, operations, people, industry and external factors to provide an enterprise decision support capability that crosses traditional analytical silo.
  • Pioneer the trial and adoption of new methodologies, technologies and capabilities in the pursuit of analytical excellence including, but not limited to, exception reporting, predictive, forecasting and customer analytics.
  • Define and oversee the implementation of the framework for the standardisation of analytics quality for the Enterprise, including data quality, content certification and visualisation standards.
  • Act as a governing function, the role actively promotes the adoption of these standards through the creation of policies and guidelines, as well as the deployment of toolkits and support to ensure adherence to this program.
  • Cultivates the Enterprise ambition of embedding a federated Insights & Analytics (I&A) community to enable the scaled and sustained excellence in all I&A disciplines across functional lines of business.
  • Create a culture of inclusion across business functions by actively endorsing and participating in community building activities that reinforce this ambition.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) from an internationally recognised university with emphasis on business, marketing and sales.
  • Experience in the airline or service industry as a functional head developing and implementing strategies.
  • Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage: customer analysis, financial analysis and data mining.
  • Strong experience in dashboarding and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, QlikView, Tableau or similar).
  • Solid expertise in data modelling and data warehousing technologies (e.g. Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or equivalent platforms).
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL.
  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data analysis and transformation.
  • Demonstratable evidence at strategic thinking and result oriented capability.
  • Ability to handle multiple and complex situations simultaneously taking into considerations the diverse culture within the group.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to analyse reports of high quality.
