Maintenance Supervisor - Everyday Goods Manufacturing

Job Summary:

The incumbent in this role is responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and reliability of equipment and machinery within GMGs Foods processing operations. This role includes conducting regular maintenance checks, implementing preventive measures, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with the Maintenance Assistant Manager to execute maintenance schedules efficiently. The Maintenance Supervisors focus is on minimizing downtime, enhancing productivity, and ensuring that all machinery and equipment comply with GMGs operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine and periodic inspections on machinery, identify wear and tear, and will coordinate timely repairs to ensure consistent operation within the facility.

Execute preventive maintenance programs, tracking equipment performance, and assist in the development of procedures to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Respond swiftly to breakdowns, troubleshoot and repair issues, and communicate effectively with the Assistant Manager to ensure major repairs are handled promptly.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, request of ordering spare parts and materials as necessary, and ensure that safety protocols are strictly adhered to in all maintenance procedures.

Work closely with the Production and Quality Control teams to address any machinery concerns that could impact product quality, while also recommending improvements to optimize energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Ensure all maintenance works are aligning Foods safety standard.

Functional and Technical Competencies:

Solid understanding of mechanical systems, understanding of electrial and automation system with specific skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving machinery issues.

Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance techniques, coupled with familiarity with food processing equipment, is essential.

Expertise in safety protocols and a keen attention to detail in documenting maintenance tasks.

Proficiency in using maintenance software and strong troubleshooting skills are required to maintain efficient operations and minimize downtime.
