Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor is an integral part of the supply chain management team, responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimizing the efficient flow of goods and services. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in logistics operations to oversee and improve the current logistics processes, ensuring that they fully support both the customer service agenda and the company's overall objectives. The Logistics Supervisor will work closely with different departments to streamline supply chain operations, maintain inventory levels, assure timely delivery, and enhance customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the position involves supervising a team, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and implementing best practices within the logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily logistics operations to ensure efficiency and productivity within the department.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain logistical strategies to meet operational targets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to streamline supply chain activities.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics and improve logistics processes accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international logistics regulations.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor logistics personnel to enhance team performance and development.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with safety standards in logistics operations.
  • Handle transportation scheduling and planning to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Optimize inventory management to reduce costs and improve service levels.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage the logistics budget and reduce operating costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with logistics service providers to negotiate advantageous terms.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies pertaining to shipments or deliveries expediently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven record of improving team performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in logistics operations.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and inventory management systems is required.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral for effective collaboration.
