Job Description

The role of a Logistics Supervisor is critical to the seamless functioning of supply chain operations within an organization. As a Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee the coordination and management of the logistics processes, ensuring the timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of goods. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, supervising a team of logistics employees, and liaising with suppliers and vendors to streamline operations. Your expertise will be vital in identifying and addressing any logistical challenges and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, coupled with a keen understanding of logistics and supply chain management.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily logistics operations and ensure efficient movement of goods.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistic processes and increase efficiency.
  • Manage and lead logistics staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to optimize supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in transportation and logistics.
  • Analyze logistics data and generate reports to support operational improvements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate actions to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Implement safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining high service quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and inventory transactions.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between all participants in the supply chain.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in logistics operations promptly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop practical solutions for logistics challenges.
