Job Description

The Logistics Specialist is a pivotal role in any supply chain operation, tasked with overseeing and managing the entire lifecycle of a product, from acquisition to delivery. In this challenging position, you will work to optimize the movement of goods through careful planning, scheduling, and research of logistical problems. As a Logistics Specialist, you will partner with vendors, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure material availability to fulfill customer demands efficiently. This role demands a high level of analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an ability to work under pressure while maintaining communication across departments. Your expertise will contribute to cost reduction, enhanced operational efficiency, and increased client satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track the shipment of products using automated logistics systems.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations on transportation and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain logistics reports to track and analyze key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimize supply chain activities.
  • Analyze and improve logistical processes to enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all logistics-related transactions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between suppliers, transporters, and customers.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies in shipments and deliveries promptly.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure logistical operations run smoothly.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and requisition new stock.
  • Negotiate transportation costs with carriers and secure competitive pricing.
  • Prepare shipment documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in logistics software and databases.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset for logistical challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines efficiently.
