Job Description

A Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in the supply chain management process, ensuring that goods and services travel efficiently from the point of origin to the end consumer. They manage the coordination and organization of the movement of goods, analyze transportation costs and identify the best strategies for logistical operations. This role requires strong analytical skills to forecast and plan logistics needs while considering the impact of market conditions on transportation logistics. Detailed knowledge about inventory management and distribution is paramount, as is the ability to collaborate with various team members across the supply chain, including vendors and shipping partners. A Logistics Specialist must also possess excellent problem-solving skills to preemptively address logistical challenges and ensure timely deliveries.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage logistical activities to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
  • Analyze transportation costs and develop strategies to optimize logistical processes.
  • Monitor shipments, timelines, and delivery routes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction in logistics operations.
  • Prepare and manage logistics and supply chain budgets effectively and accurately.
  • Utilize logistics software and systems to monitor and manage supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and laws regarding logistics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders involved in the logistics process.
  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions proactively.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve seamless logistical operations and project success.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to management on logistics performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years experience working in logistics or supply chain roles.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, such as TMS, WMS, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective decision-making processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders in the supply chain.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
