Job Description

A Logistics Specialist is a key player in managing and overseeing the supply chain operations of a company. This role involves ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. A Logistics Specialist coordinates all aspects of logistics, from inventory management to transportation and distribution. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day logistics operations and oversee the coordination of shipments.
  • Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate product supply and prompt delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and freight companies to streamline processes.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervise the logistics team and provide training to enhance their skills.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure the best shipping deals.
  • Utilize logistics software to track shipments and ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to transportation and shipping promptly.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on logistics performance and KPIs.
  • Plan and oversee product returns and exchanges to maintain customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
  • Proficient in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Experience in negotiating shipping rates and managing logistics contracts effectively.
