Job Description

As a Logistics Officer, you will be a vital component of our organization, focusing on the efficient, cost-effective flow and storage of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The primary objective of this role is to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering products within the required timeframe and in excellent condition. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes. This position requires you to possess strong organizational skills, an ability to manage and coordinate large groups or projects, a keen eye for detail, and the capability to multitask effectively. As a Logistics Officer, you will also be expected to innovate and improve logistical processes, ensuring optimal efficiency and functionality in all logistical pursuits.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory, and transportation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with freight forwarders and transportation companies.
  • Monitor shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
  • Implement efficient and cost-effective systems for the movement of goods and materials.
  • Design and analyze reports and projections for inventory management and logistics strategy.
  • Train and supervise staff in logistical procedures and systems to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods across multiple channels and networks.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to resolve complaints and improve logistics processes.
  • Develop plans to avoid shortages and excesses at all points of the logistical chain.
  • Review and track expenditure, ensuring logistics operations are cost-effective and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of logistics activities and inventory counts.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost reductions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Proficient in logistics software and technology, such as ERP systems and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with diverse teams.
  • Understanding of international logistics practices and customs regulations.
