Job Description

A Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in managing the transportation and storage of goods within an organization. This position requires highly organized individuals who can coordinate various logistics activities to ensure the efficient flow of products and materials. A successful Logistics Officer will have a strong understanding of supply chain operations, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve logistics-related issues quickly. The role includes planning, coordinating, and overseeing logistics operations, including inventory management, warehousing, and order fulfillment. The Logistics Officer serves as the link between the company’s supply chain processes and its overall business strategy, ensuring that all logistics aspects are aligned to promote operational efficiency and productivity.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage logistics operations, including shipping, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Develop logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the transportation of goods from distribution centers to clients.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Monitor cargo movements and conduct regular audits to prevent theft or loss.
  • Analyze logistics data and generate reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies in all logistics activities.
  • Identify and resolve any logistical issues impacting the operations swiftly and effectively.
  • Maintain efficient record-keeping systems for all logistics activities and transactions.
  • Assist in hiring and training logistics staff to improve department performance.
  • Manage the logistics budget and negotiate favorable terms with logistics providers.
  • Oversee the safety, quality, and delivery of logistics services to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management software systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in managing logistics and transportation operations efficiently.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for dealing with vendors and team members.
