Job Description

The Logistics Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods and services. This position is essential for maintaining supply chain operations and requires excellent strategic and analytical skills. A Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of logistical operations. Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate logistics operations to ensure efficient movement of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records of stock and materials.
  • Supervise and monitor the distribution and transportation of goods to ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies for effective logistics service.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics regulations, quality standards, and safety policies.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with logistics providers and service vendors.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of logistics equipment and fleet vehicles.
  • Prepare and present logistics reports and updates to senior management.
  • Provide logistics-related guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that logistics operations align with the organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, processes, and best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
