Job Description

The role of a Logistics Officer is crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials from origin to destination in a timely and cost-effective manner. As a Logistics Officer, you will oversee the supply chain operations, ensuring that products are delivered on time and in excellent condition. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing logistics processes, including procurement, transportation, and distribution. This position requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills to handle the complexities of logistics operations and maintain a smooth and productive supply chain. You will work closely with other departments to enhance logistic processes and contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Oversee inventory management and maintain efficient supply chain functions.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in logistics.
  • Monitor and evaluate transportation costs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to control logistics processes.
  • Analyze performance metrics and generate reports to assess logistics efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Implement technology solutions to improve logistical operations and reporting.
  • Supervise and guide logistics personnel to achieve departmental goals and targets.
  • Address and resolve any logistical issues or discrepancies effectively and timely.
  • Continually review and improve logistics systems for enhanced efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in logistics or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage data effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities to handle logistical challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
