Job Description

The Logistics Officer is responsible for the efficient and smooth operations of a company's supply chain systems. This role involves organizing and supervising the storage and distribution of goods, ensuring that the right products are delivered to the correct location on time and at a good cost. The Logistics Officer must oversee the entire process from order receipt, procurement, inventory management, up to distribution. This key position requires a strategic mindset and the ability to forecast supply chain trends for optimal business performance. The Logistics Officer will work collaboratively with suppliers, manufacturers, and other partners to ensure that logistic processes are efficient and that company objectives are met. This position is suited for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent coordination skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations in compliance with regulations.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies for optimal delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory records and manage reorders effectively.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate logistics workforce performance for improvement.
  • Monitor transport costs, delivery timelines, and address logistic inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
  • Manage, plan and maintain inventory levels to ensure service needs are met.
  • Oversee the shipment and receipt of products and manage warehousing processes.
  • Conduct audits of company logistic systems and submit detailed reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal logistics regulations.
  • Develop and maintain professional connections with logistics service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven working experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, databases, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic logistics team.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations and make strategic decisions quickly.
