Job Description

The role of a Logistics Officer is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an organization's supply chain processes. As a key player in logistics management, the Logistics Officer is responsible for the coordination, storage, transportation, and delivery of goods and materials necessary for operational needs. This position requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and team members. The Logistics Officer will also oversee the analytics, reporting, and optimization of supply chain operations to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness. As an integral part of the team, the Logistics Officer will contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes to improve logistics and distribution efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and place orders to avoid product shortages.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on supply chain activities and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards for all logistics processes.
  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize costs and efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate logistics performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with transport companies to negotiate rates and service agreements.
  • Oversee the organization, storage, and dispatch of goods in warehouses.
  • Utilize logistics software to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the logistics operation are maintained.
  • Manage the accurate tracking and documentation of shipments and deliveries.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply chain effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
