Job Description

The role of a Logistics Executive is integral to the operational success of any organization that deals with the distribution of goods and materials. This position requires the coordination and management of the complete supply chain, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods, from suppliers to customers. A Logistics Executive is responsible for developing and implementing logistic strategies that improve the flow of operations and reduce costs. They must work closely with vendors, negotiate contracts, manage warehouse operations, and ensure compliance with safety and legal standards. The individual in this role will also focus on optimizing existing logistics processes, exploring innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance distribution, and fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders in the supply chain network. The goal is to contribute significantly to the business by ensuring products are delivered timely and meet customer expectations, ultimately driving satisfaction and profitability.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient logistics plans and procedures for operations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Manage warehouse operations to optimize space utilization and inventory levels.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistic partners.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of logistic operations and services.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on service quality.
  • Analyze data to evaluate performance metrics and logistics efficiencies.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to streamline supply chain activities.
  • Utilize technology to enhance logistic process productivity and accuracy.
  • Develop relationships with key customer accounts to understand their logistics needs.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on logistics performance for management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience in logistics or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software and management systems applications.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proficiency in managing vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
