Job Description

The Logistics Executive position is a critical role within the supply chain and logistics industry, tasked with overseeing the efficient and effective operations of a company's logistics activities. This position plays a vital part in ensuring that goods are transported, stored, and distributed in a manner that is timely and cost-effective. The Logistics Executive is responsible for coordinating with various departments to streamline operations and improve service delivery. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to analyze data to make informed decisions. The ideal candidate should also have strong communication skills to liaise with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of logistics functions.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and oversee logistics operations, including shipping and receiving activities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics processes.
  • Analyze data to assess logistics performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and norms.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with logistics service providers and vendors.
  • Manage inventory levels to align with company goals and customer needs.
  • Monitor and report on transportation costs and service levels regularly.
  • Use logistics software to manage and track orders, shipments, and inventories.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of logistics performance and compliance.
  • Foster relationships with key clients to ensure continued satisfaction and business growth.
  • Train, supervise, and support logistics personnel in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics management, supply chain management, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle complex operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools for management and tracking purposes.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
