Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations within a company's supply chain. This position is essential for ensuring that goods are transported efficiently and delivered on time. A successful Logistics Coordinator is organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills. They work closely with various departments within the organization as well as with external partners such as suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers to facilitate the movement of goods. By maintaining comprehensive records and continually monitoring transportation costs, the Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in optimizing logistics processes and contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure efficient transportation.
  • Communicate with suppliers, retailers, and customers to facilitate delivery schedules.
  • Organize and manage inventory audits and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Oversee the management of shipping and receiving logistics documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and safety standards in logistics activities.
  • Create cost-effective transportation schedules to optimize delivery processes.
  • Track shipments and address issues to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency.
  • Develop strategic relationships with logistics carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Coordinate import/export processes and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Assist in developing logistics strategies that reduce transportation costs.
  • Implement and maintain lean processes to enhance logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as logistics coordinator or similar position in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of logistics principles and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and logistics software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with diverse teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop strategic logistics plans efficiently.
