Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of supply chain processes. They are responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of all logistical operations within a business or organization. This includes the receipt, storage, and distribution of products or materials. The role demands an individual who is adept at managing multiple tasks and ensuring deliveries are made on time and efficiently. A Logistics Coordinator must possess excellent communication skills to liaise between various departments, vendors, and clients, ensuring that every step of the logistics process is communicated clearly and executed flawlessly. With a keen eye for detail and efficiency, they work diligently to avoid delays, manage inventory effectively, and ensure all scheduled operations meet the company's standards and customer obligations.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure efficient logistics activities.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, buyers, and clients to ensure seamless operations.
  • Oversee the packing, repacking, and labeling of products for delivery or storage.
  • Manage the maintenance and negotiation of transport contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, health, and safety guidelines during operations.
  • Schedule and track shipments to guarantee timely delivery and quality service.
  • Assist in inventory management and advise on optimal storage solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics processes and reduce costs.
  • Prepare detailed reports on shipping, inventory, and budgets for management review.
  • Address and resolve any problems or complaints raised by clients or suppliers.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and performance management of logistics staff.
  • Utilize software systems to optimize operations and maintain updated logistics data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or relevant operational role required.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of logistics operations, including warehousing and transportation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for reporting and analysis.
