Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods from suppliers to customers. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can oversee and manage the efficient storage and distribution of products. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for communicating with carriers, coordinating shipments, and managing inventory levels. They must be able to work under tight deadlines and effectively handle any issues that arise during the transportation and delivery process. Additionally, they are required to maintain accurate records and provide timely updates and reports to management. Success in this role is defined by the ability to optimize logistics operations, improve the delivery cycle, and enhance customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations ensuring active communication with all stakeholders.
  • Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Efficiently communicate with carriers, suppliers, and clients to manage shipment details.
  • Supervise orders and arrange stocking of materials and products to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on inventory levels, delivery timelines, and logistics issues.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints concerning logistics processes and customer deliveries.
  • Participate in budgeting processes, helping optimize spending for logistics activities.
  • Implement strategies for smoother operations and improved efficiency in logistics management.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation, and environmental safety standards.
  • Maintain an updated database of logistics and freight invoices to facilitate financial tracking.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions to improve logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within a logistics department.
  • Proficient in logistics software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle the coordination of multiple shipments.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing time efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
