A Lighting Designer plays a pivotal role in creating the ambiance and mood in various settings such as theaters, concerts, events, and architectural projects. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with directors and production teams to understand lighting requirements and vision.
• Design and plan lighting layouts that align with artistic concepts and project narratives.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and determine suitable lighting solutions.
• Select and coordinate lighting equipment and gear necessary for each specific project.
• Develop and maintain lighting plots, plans, and accompanying documentation for all projects.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and adjustment of lighting equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Program lighting control consoles to execute precise lighting effects during performances.
• Collaborate with other design professionals to integrate lighting with sound and stage design effectively.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on lighting technologies to incorporate innovative solutions in designs.
• Train and supervise junior lighting technicians and crew during project execution.
• Ensure safety standards are met in the setup and operation of all lighting equipment.
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in lighting design, theatrical design, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a lighting designer in relevant projects.
• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and lighting design software applications.
• Strong understanding of lighting system layout, rigging, and operation principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and integrate them into design processes.
