Job Description

As a lifeguard, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals at swimming pools, beaches, or other aquatic environments. Your primary responsibility is to watch over swimmers and respond promptly in emergency situations. You need to maintain a vigilant eye on the water, continuously monitoring conditions and swimmer activities. Lifeguards are also responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the facility to prevent accidents, providing first aid and emergency care when necessary, and maintaining equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety standards. Strong swimming skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and excellent communication abilities are vital for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all swimmers.
  • Recognize and respond efficiently to emergencies to prevent drowning or other incidents.
  • Enforce all rules and regulations to maintain a safe swimming environment.
  • Provide first aid and perform CPR or other lifesaving techniques when required.
  • Maintain surveillance of swimmers to ensure compliance with pool or beach guidelines.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to ensure operational readiness and safety.
  • Prepare and present detailed incident reports for management review when necessary.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patrons to address inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with other staff members for coordinated emergency response efforts.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards.
  • Educate guests regarding safe swimming practices and water safety tips.

Requirements

  • Need Life Guard Certification
  • Possess current lifeguard certification including CPR and first aid training.
  • Ability to swim proficiently and perform lifesaving water maneuvers confidently.
  • Excellent observation and monitoring skills to detect potential hazards promptly.
  • Strong ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patrons and team members.
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform rescues and handle emergencies.
