Job Description

A Learning & Development (L&D) Intern at Waldorf Astoria plays a key role in supporting the hotel’s training initiatives, ensuring team members receive the knowledge, skills, and support needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role contributes to maintaining high service standards, enhancing colleague engagement, and supporting the continuous development culture within the hotel.

What will I be doing?

As an L&D Intern, you will support the efficient coordination and execution of all training and development activities within the hotel. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Administration of trainings and other related activities.
  • Administration of Hilton University Courses within the properties and publish necessary reports as and when required.
  • Manage training trackers to ensure all necessary, mandatory compliance-based training is completed by designated target audiences in the hotel.
  • Coordinates training related projects as and when required.
  • Assist the L&D Manager in training related presentations.
  • Monitors P&L and Training Budget expenditures, under the instruction of the L&D Manager.
  • Coordinates with external courses providers and other suppliers.
  • Raise RFQs and track purchase requests through birchstreet system.
  • Coordinates Orientation program for all new joiners and other related administration tasks such as, orientation presenters, facilitators, attendees, room booking and BEO.
  • Ensures all new joiners have a Job Skills Checklists, as per the requirement of their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Receives and processes Cross Exposure forms under the instruction of the L&D Manager.
  • From time to time, performs other functions that may be assigned by the L&D and HR Manager, when the need arises.
  • Update LPS related to training such as Forbes.

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in Training & Development, talent growth, and people-focused initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, training schedules, and administrative requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in assisting with presentations, training sessions, and group facilitation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with e-learning platforms or LMS systems is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and committed to maintaining high-quality training records and documentation.
  • A proactive, positive, and solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all departments.
  • Passion for service excellence and an understanding of luxury hospitality standards.
  • Flexibility to support training activities as needed based on operational requirements.


It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous internship or experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Training roles within a hotel environment.
  • Knowledge of Hilton University or other learning management systems.
  • Experience supporting training coordination, workshops, or administrative tasks.
  • Additional language skills, particularly those relevant to the hotel’s guest and team member demographics.
