We are currently seeking experienced  

Lead Inspector (m/f/d) Topside 

to support the Site Management Topside Construction project, starting approx. April 2026, for an estimated duration till 2030.  

This freelance role is onshore-based at Port Rashid, Dubai, operating on a Shiftsystem or with potential weekend assignments depending on operational requirements.

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities: 

• Performing inspections primarily as a Welding & Coating Inspector (steelworks and coating), ensuring compliance with BSH and project specifications. 
• Coordinating the inspection team, including task allocation, daily reporting, and non-conformity control. 
• Acting as Deputy Site Manager by providing administrative support and assuming representation during the Site Manager’s absence. 
• Serving as the on-site escalation point for resolvable issues. 
• Monitoring documentation and records, including but not limited to: 
• WPS/WPQR, welding plans, material and filler certificates, coating data 
• Equipment status (calibration, maintenance, parameters) 
• Qualifications of personnel (welders, NDT personnel, painters/FROSIO, etc.) 
• Dimensional control and environmental conditions during coating activities 
• Managing punch items for own discipline using dedicated tools. 
• Participating in ITP hold/witness points, HAT, and final visual inspections prior to sail-out.

• A technical background, gained either through a university degree in engineering (Master’s/Dipl.-Ing.) or through a completed apprenticeship, technical qualification, or comparable professional training combined with relevant work experience
• Having a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welding & Coating Inspector. 
• Having experience in steelworks, preferably within offshore wind projects. 
• Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and experience in preparing and reviewing welding documentation. 
• Holding IWE/EWE or IWI-C or CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 certification (International Welding Inspector/Engineer). 
• Holding NDT certification according to EN ISO 9712, minimum Level 2. 
• Being business-fluent in English. 
• Having a permanent residence in Dubai or demonstrating willingness to relocate to Dubai for the duration of the project. 
  
  

Nice to Have: 

• Holding coating expertise such as FROSIO Level 3 or NACE CIP Level 2 (or equivalent). 
• Holding an electrical qualification according to DIN VDE 0105-100. 
• Having experience as a Site Manager. 
• Being fluent in Arabic. 
• Being fluent in German.
