The Lead Analyst, Inventory Planning is responsible for end-to-end planning of raw materials and components to support reliable production and customer service in a regulated medical device environment. This role leads execution of a Lean Plan for Every Part (PFEP) framework and partners closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure material availability while optimizing inventory and working capital. This role drives planning excellence, influences inventory strategy, and leads continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational and financial goals.
Lean Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Ownership
Implement and maintain the PFEP framework across all raw materials, components, and finished goods
Maintain accurate PFEP data (lead times, lot sizes, order frequency, etc.)
Partner with Operations & Procurement to align PFEP with production and purchasing processes
Review site level PFEP KPIs to ensure compliance to the process and inventory targets, partner with cross-functional team to identify areas of opportunity and create action plans to improve performance
Align Inventory Targets with Financial & Business Objectives
Drives safety stock and reorder point business reviews on a regular cadence for all SKUs which includes performing initial analysis, gathering feedback and alignment from internal stakeholders, and loading the targets in our planning systems
Raw Material & Component Planning
Develop and manage supply plans for raw materials and components based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets
Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and reorder points to ensure material availability while minimizing excess and obsolescence
Identify supply risks, including shortages, delays, and demand variability and partner cross-functionally to mitigate
Provide Procurement partners with clear purchase, pull in, and push out signals based on Supply Plan
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze demand/usage trends, inventory performance, and supplier reliability to inform planning decisions
Track and report key metrics such as inventory health, overall inventory levels, and excess inventory
Use ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate planning parameters and data integrity
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, tools, and data accuracy
Support cross-functional initiatives related to supply chain optimization and cost reduction
Lead or contribute to Lean and continuous improvement projects
4+ years of progressive inventory/demand/supply planning experience
Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, large data sets, ect.)
Preferred -
Power BI experience
SAP and JD Edwards
SQL - preferred
Proven experience with Lean methodologies and/or PFEP concepts
$77,700- $168,400 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
