Job Summary

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the accurate and efficient cleaning, pressing, and finishing of guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linen in accordance with the hotel’s quality and hygiene standards. This role involves operating laundry equipment, handling chemicals safely, and ensuring that all items are returned in pristine condition and on time. The Laundry Attendant works under the supervision of the Laundry Team Leader or Manager and collaborates with colleagues to maintain smooth workflow, excellent service standards, and a safe working environment as per hotel policy and standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, press, and finish guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linen according to established hotel standards.
• Operate laundry machines safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damages, or quality issues, and take corrective actions when necessary.
• To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to Laundry Supervisor if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
• Fold, package, and prepare laundry items for timely delivery to guests or internal departments.
• Follow hygiene, safety, and operational procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of laundry supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
• Report machine malfunctions, supply shortages, or any operational issues to the Team Leader or Laundry Manager.
• Support colleagues in achieving smooth workflow, high productivity, and exceptional service quality.
  
  

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in laundry operations is a plus.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hotel laundry, dry cleaning, or commercial laundry operations.
• Basic knowledge of laundry processes, stain removal techniques, fabric care, and dry-cleaning methods.
• Ability to operate washing, drying, pressing, machines safely and efficiently.
• Understanding of hygiene, chemical safety, and operational procedures.
• Attention to detail to ensure quality and timely delivery of laundry items.
• Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy linen and prolonged standing.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistent service standards.
• Basic computer skills for logging laundry records or production reports.
