Position Overview
This role is responsible for daily laboratory and environmental testing, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and halal standards. Supports the Quality team in inspection activities and assists with other quality-related tasks when required.
Responsibilities
Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirement by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory and customer requirements.
To demonstrate strong commitment to the laboratory policy and procedure.
Handles samples and performing analyses according to standard test/operating procedures.
Perform tests according to standard test procedure and good laboratory practices (raw material and finished goods).
Support implementation of company’s Quality, Food Safety, and Halal programs in compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other standards.
To complete all required analysis and results in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepare and maintain shelf life of chemical and reagents used
Maintaining and calibrating the equipment
Report deficiencies or malfunction to the Food Technologist
Responsible for ensuring adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in all daily laboratory operations.
Responsible for all the housekeeping and cleanliness of the apparatus used in the test.
Strict inventory control of chemicals, media, reagents and glassware. Proper use of personnel protective equipment all the time when handling tests in the laboratory.
Ensure all test results, reports, and QA documents are properly recorded and filed.
Perform other tasks assigned by superiors from time to time.
Education
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Microbiology, Food Technology/Science, Biotechnology or other related field
Experience
Minimum 1 years of experience in a food microbiology lab or meat industry preferred
Experience in ISO 17025 accredited labs is an advantage.
Skills
Well on using internet, Microsoft Office i.e. Words, Excel and PowerPoint
Able transverse, speaking and writing in English/Malay.
Fit to manage personnel and to conduct activities of quality department.
Ability to voice suggestions or comment effectively.
Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet deadlines.
