Job Description

The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in supporting scientific investigations and experiments within a laboratory setting. This position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual who can manage various duties ranging from conducting tests and recording data to maintaining lab equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The Laboratory Technician will work closely with scientists and other lab staff to facilitate daily operations and contribute to innovative research and product development. Proficiency in using laboratory instruments, precision in data analysis, and a strong grasp of scientific methodologies are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests following standardized procedures accurately.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure precision and accuracy of results.
  • Record and analyze test results, providing detailed reports for scientific assessments.
  • Collaborate with scientists and research personnel to support experiments and studies.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare samples and reagents required for testing procedures and experiments.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and order new stock as required.
  • Document observations meticulously, ensuring accurate records for future reference and audits.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory methods and protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during laboratory operations promptly.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and practices.
  • Clean and sterilize work areas and equipment to prevent contamination and maintain safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably with clinical or research focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records consistently.
  • Proficient in using laboratory equipment and computer software relevant to data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable about safety regulations and procedures pertinent to laboratory settings.
