Junior Project Designer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the production of conceptual and schematic level drawings, renderings, and diagrams under the direction of a more experienced designer to increase independence over time.
• Direct development of innovative design concepts with project teams to produce constructable solutions.
• Responsible for exterior material research and selections, and construction detailing to maintain design intent throughout the design process.
• Responsible for client-facing and internal presentations.
• Perform early programming and loading capacity studies.
• Interface and collaborate with interior designers and landscape designers for cohesive overall designs
• Work with internal and external visualization designers to produce best-in-class renderings and animations
• Help in the production of quality design awards, both locally and nationally.
  
  

• Bachelors Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field (required)
• Professional Degree and/or Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field (preferred)
• Proficient in Rhino, SketchUp, Test Fit, and other 3D modelling software
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD a plus
• Eventually, licensure will be expected
• 3-5 years of professional experience
• A strong portfolio highlighting student work and any professional experience, if relevant
• A strong ability to multitask and pivot quickly between projects
• A strong knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
• Strong sketching skills a plus
• LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus
• Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects during the early stages, as well as assisting with Construction Management towards the end.
• Excellent written + verbal communication skills, client and consultant relationship management
