Major Activities/Deliverables
•    Prepare ballast and intact stability calculations for load-out/load-in, sailing, and other project-specific operating conditions.
•    Assist in preparing longitudinal strength checks, draft/trim assessments, and other naval architecture calculations required for MCV operations.
•    Prepare onshore and offshore mooring arrangements and associated calculations, including line geometry, loads, and operational limitations, as applicable.
•    Prepare and update method statements, technical proposals, feasibility studies, stowage plans, ballast plans, mooring plans, and supporting engineering documentation.
•    Support the development and review of cargo stowage, sea fastening, load distribution, deck strength, and related engineering arrangements in coordination with the responsible engineers.
•    Review vessel particulars, cargo data, jetty/berth information, tidal data, and operational constraints to support technical feasibility assessments.
•    Provide technical input to the Commercial and Operations teams for project planning, tendering, and wider deployment of the MCV fleet.
•    Support site inspection, including collection and verification of dimensions, operational data, photographs, and other information required for engineering assessments.
•    Attend project operations as required and provide engineering support during mobilization, load-out/load-in, sea fastening, mooring, and other marine activities.
•    Coordinate with vessel Masters/crew, Operations, project teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders on technical and operational requirements within the assigned scope.
•    Assist in preparing inspection reports, technical reports, calculation notes, drawings, and close-out documentation, ensuring proper document control and revision management.
•    Follow applicable DP World Maritime Solutions procedures, HSSEQ requirements, class requirements, and relevant marine industry rules, standards, and guidelines.
•    Provide drafting and engineering support to the Technical Engineer – MCV and wider technical team as required.
•    Provide naval architecture and marine engineering support for MCV fleet modifications, upgrades, vessel conversions, and operational improvement initiatives.
•    Assist the line manager and technical team with other engineering and project-related tasks as required.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering.

Minimum Experience:
1–2 years of relevant experience in naval architecture, marine engineering, heavy lift/project cargo, marine transportation.

Job-Specific Skills:
• Sound understanding of basic naval architecture principles, including hydrostatics, intact stability, trim, ballast operations, vessel motions, and longitudinal strength.
• Basic understanding of ship structures, deck loading, load distribution, sea fastening, and marine transportation engineering.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AutoHydro and Optimoor is preferred.
• Knowledge of Rhino, MOSES, ANSYS, or similar naval architecture/engineering software is an advantage.
• Awareness of applicable Classification Society rules, IMO requirements, and marine/heavy transport industry standards is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret vessel drawings, General Arrangement plans, structural drawings, stability information, cargo drawings, and jetty/berth information.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail and engineering accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical calculations, reports, drawings, and correspondence.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to support vessel/site activities when required.
• Proactive approach to learning, with the ability to work under supervision, manage assigned priorities, and meet project deadlines.
