Job Description

The Housekeeping Executive is a pivotal role within the hospitality sector, contributing directly to the guest experience by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the establishment. This role involves overseeing housekeeping operations, managing staff, and ensuring all areas are impeccably maintained and the appearance of rooms and public spaces meets the organization's standards. The Housekeeping Executive is also responsible for maintaining an inventory of supplies, ordering stock as necessary, and ensuring all health and safety protocols are strictly adhered to. This position requires strong leadership skills, as well as an eye for detail, enabling the candidate to effectively supervise their team and interface positively with guests and other departments to address any housekeeping-related requests or issues promptly.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the housekeeping department’s daily operations effectively.
  • Ensure rooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standards daily.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping procedures and quality control measures.
  • Train, motivate, and mentor housekeeping staff in all areas of their roles.
  • Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies and materials when necessary.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet the guests' specific housekeeping needs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address areas needing attention.
  • Oversee laundry operations ensuring timely and efficient processing of linens.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints relating to housekeeping swiftly and effectively.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, optimizing resources and controlling expenses carefully.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing feedback for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory housekeeping role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, guests, and management.
