Job Description

The Junior Finance Officer plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. Under the supervision of senior finance personnel, this position is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring that all financial activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. The Junior Finance Officer will work closely with different departments, providing financial insights and facilitating effective budget management. Responsibilities

  • Manage and record daily financial transactions, ensuring documentation correctness and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances against actual performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and legislation to mitigate financial risks.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide financial insights to aid decision-making processes.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Participate in the preparation and submission of tax filings and other statutory financial reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and answering queries.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of financial documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance finance operations and efficiency.
  • Provide support in financial planning and analysis, contributing to strategic financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Some experience in a finance role is preferred, internships included.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other finance-related software tools.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and fiscal procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
