The Role:

As a Junior Accountant, you will support the finance department with daily accounting operations, transaction recording, petty cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting processes to ensure the company’s financial activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Record and update financial transactions, including receivables, payables, expenses, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements, sub-ledgers, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and maintain periodic financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly).
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies within financial processes.
• Support the finance team during external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Contribute to the enhancement of accounting systems, procedures, and reporting tools.

Requirements:

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• At least 1, preferably 2 years of experience in accounting with a UAE-based eCommerce startup luxury goods/fashion/watches company.
• Experienced with GCC VAT regulations.
• Experienced with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, NetSuite.
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or general Business Administration.
• Pursuing accounting certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.) is a plus.
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written) in English.
