Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's IT infrastructure and providing technical support to our staff and clients. You will be the first point of contact for end-users with IT-related inquiries and issues, delivering a high level of customer service while diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently. Your responsibilities include managing hardware and software inventories, troubleshooting network issues, installing and configuring computer systems, and maintaining reliable systems performance. This position requires a proactive candidate who can manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and adapt to evolving technology trends and user needs.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line assistance to users experiencing technical difficulties or software issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and computer hardware systems.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance for system software and hardware components.
  • Manage active directory user accounts and permissions, ensuring secure access.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Monitor and maintain IT asset inventory, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • Ensure data backups and recovery systems are functioning correctly and regularly tested.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technology solutions and system upgrades.
  • Educate and assist employees on the use of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide on-call support as needed to handle emergencies after business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an IT support role or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical terms to non-technical users.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional are preferable.
