Job Description

As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role within our company's IT department by providing technical support and assistance to end-users on a variety of issues. This role requires someone who has a keen problem-solving mindset and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users. You will be expected to troubleshoot various hardware and software issues, maintain computer systems, and provide input on improving IT processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support and a passion for helping others. Your efforts will directly enable smooth IT operations, contributing to the overall productivity and efficiency of our organization.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users experiencing software and hardware issues.
  • Respond to queries via phone, email, or in-person to ensure quick resolution.
  • Diagnose system errors and implement quick solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems and network connections effectively.
  • Assist in the installation and upgrading of software applications and operating systems.
  • Document issues and resolutions for future reference within knowledge databases.
  • Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to find innovative solutions to common problems.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting to provide support to offsite users as required.
  • Provide training and guidance to users to help minimize common technical problems.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software components and recommend upgrades.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure issues have been resolved to their satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar IT support role will be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and various software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical terms to laymen.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple support tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
