Job Description

An IT Support Engineer is a crucial part of any organization's technology team, tasked with ensuring that all IT systems run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, providing hardware and software support, and offering guidance to users to promote a seamless experience with technology tools and resources. The IT Support Engineer is expected to maintain a high level of customer service, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with other teams to resolve complex IT problems. This position requires a proactive mindset and a solid understanding of IT systems, networks, and applications to support the dynamic needs of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues.
  • Respond promptly to support requests and troubleshoot IT system problems effectively.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex technical issues expediently.
  • Ensure that all technical issues are logged, tracked, and resolved within the service level agreements.
  • Conduct regular system checks and maintenance to prevent technical disruptions and failures.
  • Document best practices and solutions in the company’s knowledge base for future reference.
  • Provide end-user training and guidance to enhance IT proficiency and efficiency.
  • Assist in the deployment of new technologies and upgrades within the organization.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and handle procurement needs as necessary.
  • Work on special IT projects and initiatives as directed by the IT Manager or Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in IT operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a technical support or related role required.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting common hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and IT best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a committed IT support team.
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar is advantageous.
